How to delete pages from a PDF for free (no upload needed)

A blank scan page in the middle of a contract. A cover sheet nobody asked for. Page six of a report that was only supposed to have five. Deleting pages is one of the most common PDF fixes there is — and most online tools make you upload the whole document to a server just to drop a page or two.

You do not need to upload anything. The pdfmend editor opens the PDF in your own browser, lets you remove pages from the Pages sidebar, and exports a clean copy — all on your device. There is no document upload operation at all, so the file never travels anywhere.

1. Open the editor and choose your PDF. Your browser reads the file locally — nothing is sent to a server.
2. Open the Pages sidebar. You will see a numbered list of every page in the document.
3. Find the page you want to remove. Selecting an entry shows that page in the main view, so you can confirm a blank scan, duplicate, or stray cover sheet before deleting it.
4. Use the Remove action on that page's entry. The page disappears from the document immediately, and the remaining pages close the gap. The only page that cannot be removed is the last one left — a document must keep at least one page.
5. Repeat for any other pages you want gone. If you also need to fix page order, use Move up and Move down to reorder pages in the same sidebar.
6. Click Export PDF. The trimmed copy is generated in your browser and saved to your device.

Removing a page is not a one-way door while you are editing. If you delete the wrong one, press Undo and it comes straight back in its original position. Undo and Redo cover your page edits along with everything else you do in the editor, so you can experiment freely: remove a page, look at the result in the sidebar, and undo if it was a mistake.

The safest workflow for a long document is to do all your removals first, scroll the Pages sidebar once from top to bottom as a final check, and only then export.

This trips people up with desktop editors, so it is worth being explicit: pdfmend never modifies the file on your disk. When you export, you get a new PDF with the pages removed. The original document stays exactly where it was, byte for byte, with every page intact.

That makes deleting pages low-risk. If you later discover you needed page four after all, you still have the untouched original. And if you want to keep a removed page as its own document before deleting it, use Extract page first, then remove it and export.

Think about why you are deleting a page. Often it is because the document is going somewhere: you are removing an internal note before sending a proposal, dropping a page of someone else's details from a shared scan, or trimming a bank statement to the single page a landlord asked for.

Those are exactly the documents you do not want passing through a stranger's server. An upload-based tool sees the whole file — including the pages you are deleting — and may retain it under its own policies. One honest note: removing a page removes it from the exported PDF's page tree, which is the right tool for trimming a document. If your goal is to hide part of a page — a name, a number — page deletion is not the answer; that is a job for redaction, which has its own limits worth understanding.
